Still More Problems
The trial version of adobe premiere worked perfectly for a few days before a watermark stating 'this preview was made by premiere trial version' apperaed. It is printed in the the middle of every clip and is can not be removed until the full version is bought. This makes editing my project very difficult.

Problem solving
Today, I downloaded a trial version of adobe premiere on my home computer. It allows me to have 30 days free usage which gives me enough time to edit my trailer together. The 'media offline' issue is not a problem anymore and I can use this programme to finish my coursework piece.

Further Problems
We are using Adobe Premiere to edit our footage to make our trailers. However, premiere keeps crashing whilst editing and when I open my project, minor features like magnification of shots and rotation of clips have not been saved. Another common problem is a red screen stating that the media is offline and my footage becomes unavailable. If I toggle the clips, they reappear but it is quite time consuming.

Brightness editing
Today I played with the brightness of some of my footage. As I filmed this during winter, it became dark very quickly. As filming progressed, the footage eventually got darker and darker. I played around with the brightness, contrast and hue saturation. This is a screen grab of the footage before and after.

Editing
Today I edited some of my found footage. I downloaded the clip from youtube and inserted it into my project. Unfortunately, it did not fill the width of the screen. I magnified it so it went from the first image to the second image.
Problems with Filming
Today, I was supposed to start filming footage of my superhero. I had the costume prepared, location set and I was ready to start filming. However, my friend/ actor/ superhero called and told me he was ill. This meant I had to reschedule a filming time with him, borrow the superhero boots from my friend again, arrange lifts to the film location with my family and ask another friend to take production shots. Hopefully I can begin filming after school monday but I will have to use my free time to come and edit the footage.

Uploading and editing footage
Today I uploaded and edited some of my footage. I had taken some footage the day before with my Ipod. The school cameras were available but I wanted to catch some special effects on my Ipod using an app called Action Movie. I managed to film some great action scenes with it. I will use the school cameras and a tripod to film the pedestal shot of my Superhero. The only downfall to using my Ipod was that it was cold and it was difficult to hold still as I do not have a tripod for it. This is a screen grab of an action scene in my trailer.

Photoshop practise
This is my first attempt at making a photoshop poster. This is one idea I like the look of for my actual poster. I like the black and white alley way in the background with the superhero central. I will experiment with my superhero and make another practise poster.

Media Time Table
This is my Media Time table that I will try to stick to to aid the production of my coursework. The school dates given where I will be uploading/ editing footage is when I have access to the software and programming I need. On school dates, I have set myself blogging homework after each editing session. I will do the majority of my filming over weekends as I will have the most time to perfect my footage.

Superhero Trailer Research
As I do not have a very big budget for this trailer, I researched other student made and home made superhero trailers. Unfortunately there were not very many. However, I found these two videos that contain great action sequences and special effects. The action scenes looked well choreographed and that is something I will have to consider in my trailer. I really like the Legacy (short super hero film) as it has a great plot, the choreography is well rehearsed and the special effects are very good for a home made project.
Actor Casting
I needed an actor who could be taken seriously as a Superhero. I had to think carefully about who I was going to cast as I do not want my trailer to be a comedy. The person I have chosen has good height, and a good body structure that I think can be taken seriously. I will have to take into account his height whilst designing the costume.

If My Superhero Idea Developed Into a Film
The Tornado (Film plot) on Prezi
This would be the plot of my film if it developed further than just a trailer.
Superhero Formula
Almost every superhero movie follows a formula, walking us through the good guy's origin story and introducing his (usually his) entire universe. Clueless loser. Gets superpowers. Shirks his destiny. Faces his destiny. Meets super-baddy. Loses. Faces his darkest hour. Fights super-baddy again. Wins. The end. Yay! Or else they're sequels, in which there's less "journey of discovery," and multiple bad guys.
This was taken from the website: http://io9.com/superhero-movies/
I think that this formula is fairly accurate, however, there is usually a love interest mixed into the equation somewhere. I also think that there are a couple of exceptions to this formula like the ones analysed on this website.
I want my superhero story to follow the traditional formula to some degree but I want to find a unique selling point that makes mine original and different. This may be difficult to achieve as there have been many superhero films released so finding a USP that has not been used may be a challenge.
